The driver and front passenger windows must let in at least 50% of light (plus or minus 3%), measured with the film and the glass together, and the film can't be red or yellow (Ohio Adm.Code 4501-41-03(A)(3)).
Yes. Ohio's tint limits don't apply to a vehicle registered to a person (or that person's parent, legal guardian or spouse) who has an affidavit signed by an Ohio-licensed physician or optometrist stating that a physical condition requires darker film. The affidavit must be with that person or the driver whenever they're in the vehicle (Ohio Adm.Code 4501-41-05(A)). The exemption applies only to vehicles registered in Ohio, and it doesn't allow reflective film (the reflective-film ban still applies under Ohio Rev. Code 4513.241(F)).
Film on the windshield must keep total light transmittance at 70% or more (plus or minus 3%) and can't be red or yellow. A strip along the top that doesn't extend below the AS-1 line or 5 inches from the top, whichever is closer to the top, isn't regulated. Reflective film isn't allowed on any window (Ohio Adm.Code 4501-41-03(A)(2), (A)(5) and (D)).
Yes. Tint film must have a legible label, permanently installed between the film and the glass, showing the film maker's name and its light transmission percentage, placed in the lower left-hand corner of the window as seen from outside (Ohio Adm.Code 4501-41-03(F)). Reflective film isn't allowed on any window (Ohio Rev. Code 4513.241(F)).
